Bitumen Grades We Offer

Bitumen 60/70: This is one of the widely used grades for road construction since it contains balanced penetration and viscosity. It suits Taiwan’s temperate to warm climate and can provide flexibility and durability when applied in asphalt pavement.
Bitumen 80/100: Being softer in consistency, this grade of bitumen can be used where temperatures are low or where a higher degree of flexibility is desired. It finds use in roadways with lesser traffic and also for asphalt mixes where improved workability is necessary.
Bitumen 40/50: It is tougher with lower penetration, therefore ideal for application where the temperature is going to be high. The grade may be used for heavy-duty applications such as highways and airport runways, where enhanced deformation resistance is needed.
Application of Bitumen Grades in the Taiwanese Climate
Taiwan’s tropical and subtropical climate significantly influences the selection of bitumen grades for construction projects, particularly roadworks. In Northern and Central regions such as Taipei, Taichung, and Hsinchu, where winters are mild and summers are humid, bitumen 60/70 is commonly used. Its balanced penetration level provides excellent flexibility and durability, making it ideal for coping with moderate traffic and seasonal climate variation.
In contrast, Southern Taiwan—including cities like Kaohsiung, Tainan, and Pingtung—experiences high temperatures throughout the year. For this reason, bitumen 40/50, which is harder and more resistant to deformation, is preferred. Its lower penetration value ensures that roads remain stable and do not soften under prolonged heat exposure.
Meanwhile, hilly and high-altitude areas such as Taroko and Alishan require a different approach. These regions face rapid temperature shifts and varying weather conditions, making bitumen 80/100 the most suitable. Its softer nature allows for greater flexibility and responsiveness, reducing the risk of cracking and structural stress in these challenging terrains.

Price of Bitumen in Taiwan
The price of bitumen in Taiwan is influenced by several key factors, including fluctuations in crude oil prices, ocean freight costs, the price of vacuum bottom (VB), and the type of packaging used. Among the different bitumen grades, the price of bitumen 60/70 serves as the benchmark, as it is the lowest and forms the base price for other grades. The price of cutback bitumen, on the other hand, depends on the cost of its primary raw materials.
Our payment Term
Our terms of payment are TT/30% in advance and balance after a copy of BL. This secures 30% of the payment in advance while the remaining balance is settled when a copy of the Bill of Lading has been availed, ensuring goods are in transit and well documented.
