General Description of APP Modified Bitumen Membrane
Atactic Polypropylene (APP) modified bitumen roofing membranes are a popular choice for commercial and industrial projects due to their durability and weather resistance. These membranes are made with high-quality APP compounds and reinforced with polyester or fiberglass mats for added durability. They offer a reliable barrier from outdoor elements, providing excellent water resistance and temperature variations. When installed in a multi-ply roofing system, APP membranes create a watertight surface, protecting the building structure and interior from water damage. They are also suitable for industrial settings and residential constructions where traditional roof coverings are ineffective.. They comes in rolls. Each roll measures 10 meters by 1 meter and covers an area of 8.7 m².
With a century of experience in the manufacture and development of waterproofing systems, RAHA Group offers efficient solutions made from elastomeric/plastomeric bitumen, waterproofing resins, synthetic membranes. These innovative, reliable products meet the fast-evolving needs of the construction industry and assist you in the most challenging situations. Advantages of APP Modified Bitumen Membrane
APP-Bitumen Roll Sheet roofs rarely leak because they don’t have seams, making this material a great waterproof roofing option. The material is also very flexible, so it is unlikely that a hail storm will leave cracks, dents, or other damage. Thanks to its durability and low price point, APP-Membrane WaterProofing remain is a great option for most commercial buildings.
- High performance: with a reinforcement Glass fleece, the membrane has a perfect dimensional stability.
- It comes in rolls, which ease the application and keep costs down.
- It resists UV light, which reduces cooling costs in the summer and prolongs the life of the roof.
- APP membranes are characterized by high tensile strength. Tensile strength refers to the amount of stress that can be applied before a material breaks under tension.
- APP membranes are 100% impermeable, ruling out any chances of leakage after applying on the chosen surface.
- APP membranes are more easy to apply under hot-melt conditions.
Disadvantages of Bitumen Roll Sheet
In a perfect world, one roofing material would work on any roof in any climate. Unfortunately, APP-modified bitumen, like all roofing materials, isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. If your roof doesn’t have a proper draining system, this roofing material can deteriorate quickly, as standing water wears down the material. In addition, APP-modified bitumen isn’t ideal for roofs that experience frequent foot traffic. So if your building has a rooftop patio, consider looking for a different roofing material. Another drawback of APP-modified bitumen is that it can attract heat and raise cooling costs. However, you can avoid this problem by asking your contractor to apply granules or a reflective coating on top of the modified bitumen.
- APP waterproofing membrane won’t work well with all surfaces.
- Your roof must have a draining system for this waterproofing material to work effectively.
- In the absence of a draining system, the standing water will penetrate and wear down the material.
- APP waterproofing membrane isn’t recommended for rooftop patios.
Application of App Modified Bitumen
- Terraces, balconies and patios.
- Inverted roofs and parapets.
- Roofs or undergrounds.
- Pools, such as swimming pools, fire pools.
- Subways, tunnels, concrete road or bridge surfaces;
- Sewage plants, garbage burying projects.
- Swimming pools and water retaining structures(externally).
APP Modified Bitumen Roll Sheet use in Garden
Compound: Distilled bitumen modified with a high content of elastomeric (Garden EP) and plastomeric (Garden
+PP) compound.
The special chemical additive provides efficient and uniform chemical root-stop barrier throughout the entire
thickness of the membrane, including the overlaps, where the antiriot barrier is formed by a single 3/4-mm thick layer.
Reinforcement: The reinforcement of the membrane consists of a “non-woven” single strand, heavy weight,
polyester fabric which is isotropic, root proof, thermally fixed, very strong and has a notable ultimate elongation
combined with an optimal resistance to puncture and tearing.
Areas of use: Garden series can be used in all waterproofing systems in contact with the ground or where there
is the risk of the system being attacked by roots such as roof gardens and green walls.
