General description of Bitumen 40/60
Bitumen penetration grade 40/60 is semi-hard penetration grade bitumen used as a paving grade bitumen which is suitable for road construction and repair. This unique temperature-viscosity relationship is important when determining the performance parameters such as the adhesion, rheology, durability, and application temperatures of bitumen. bitumen is a standard Penetration Grade of Bitumen ASTM D946M, typically used as a Paving Grade Bitumen suitable for road construction and for the production of asphalt pavements with superior properties particularly in road and airport constructions and other similar applications. Penetration grade Blown Asphalt 40/60 has penetration between 40~50 desi-millimeter and the softening point between 52 ~ 60C. The penetration grade bitumen 40/60 has a thermoplastic property which is like synthetic resin material which gets softer with heating and hardens when cooled. This grade of Asphalt 40/50 has a very strong viscosity compared to other grades.

Application of Bitumen 40/60
Bitumen with a penetration grade of 60/40 is usually used in road construction and asphalt industry as a type of asphalt penetration bitumen. The viscosity of bitumen is dependent on temperature, and this thermoplastic property of bitumens makes them soften at high temperatures and harden at low temperatures. These features make bitumen adhere well to different surfaces and remain stable over time and under different conditions.
Also used in specialized applications like airport runways and also in very heavy traffic volume roads in coastal cities in the country.
The advantages of bitumen 40/60 include things such as resistance to hot weather conditions, proper strength and hardness, suitable for use in street paving, road construction and road repairs in hot areas.
Guaranty of Bitumen 40/60
The quality of bitumen penetration grade with the arrangement of the international inspector to check the quality and quantity of the bitumen penetration grade during the loading to the vessel and control the production by QC by batch test report before shipping.
Penetration Bitumen 40/60 Advantages
Penetration bitumen 40/60 is a thermoplastic material, which means that it will become more flexible when it is exposed to hot temperatures, and it will become stiffer when it is exposed to low temperatures. Both the kind of crude oil that is used in the process of refining bitumen and the process of refining itself are possible elements that might have an influence on the way that bitumen behaves in terms of temperature and stiffness.
Handling and Storage
Personal Protective Equipment: Workers dealing with hot bitumen should be properly equipped with personal protection equipment, including heat-resistant gloves, face shields, long sleeves, and safety boots that protect them from possible burns and fumes.
Storage Conditions: The storage of bitumen is specified in well-ventilated areas, away from sources of ignition, and at recommended temperatures by the manufacturer to avoid degradation and, further, for safety reasons.
Packing of Bitumen 40/60
Bitumen grade is commonly packed in new steel drums, 150, 180 & 220 Kg barrels and Jumbo Bags or Bitubag and 10 & 20kg Tubular cartons.
