Oxidized Bitumen 115/15 :
High Flexibility: The grade is more flexible; thus, it will be suitable for waterproofing, sealing, and protective coating in cold climate conditions.
Excellent Adhesion: It is suitable for applications involving construction and roofing activities.
Stability Against Environmental Conditions: It shows good performance during temperature fluctuations and extreme weather conditions.
Oxidized Bitumen 150/5:
Highly Hard: High oxidation ratio, so this grade is recommended for industrial coatings, heavy asphalt, and abrasion-resistant coating.
Very Good Heat Resistance: Useful in highly heated areas due to its high ability of thermal stability.
Perfect for Hot and Dry Areas: With its high hardness and excellent resistance to direct sunlight, it should be especially suitable for hot and dry areas, roofing, and waterproofing.
Oxidized Bitumen 105/35:
High Heat Resistance: This grade acts well at hot temperatures, especially for heat-resistant varnish.
Higher Hardness Compared to Softer Grades: It is very suitable for road construction, industrial coatings, and areas with heavy traffic flow.
Stability in Extreme Environmental Conditions: It is highly resistant to direct sunlight and changes in temperature.
Oxidized Bitumen 105/15:
Excellent Adhesion: It is best for waterproofing and other protective coatings during construction.
High Flexibility: This grade is applicable in roofing and sealing purposes.
Environmental Stability: Performs better in moist conditions and fluctuating temperatures.
Oxidized Bitumen 95/25:
Good Resistance to Temperature: This grade is good to use in moderate temperature areas and for waterproofing purposes.
Good Adhesion: Good adhesion finds applications in sealing and protective coats.
Stability in Weather Change: It is reliable for the most humid and fluctuating conditions.
Oxidized Bitumen 90/40:
Very High Hardness and Heat Resistance: In this grade, high hardness and heat resistance provide good applications in heavy-duty asphalts and road construction in very hot climate regions.
Sunlight Resistance: Its high hardness gives it a high resistance to sunlight.
Good for Industrial Purposes: Suitable for roadworks and other heavy-duty applications.
Oxidized Bitumen 90/15:
High Adhesion: Can be used in waterproofing and sealing projects.
Flexibility at Low Temperature: This grade works well for flexible applications in cooler environments.
Good Moisture Resistance: It provides very good resistance to humidity.
Oxidised Bitumen 90/10:
Excellent Heat Resistance: This grade is ideal for high-temperature applications and heavy-duty asphalt.
High Stability: Works under sunlight and severe environmental conditions.
Oxidized Bitumen 85/40:
Highly Hard with Excellent Resistance to Heat: Used for abrasion-resistant coatings, road construction, and other heavy-duty applications.
Resistance to Sunlight: This bitumen has a very high hardness, making it resistant to UV rays and extreme temperatures.
Good for Industrial Use: Suitable for heavy industrial applications.
Oxidized Bitumen 85/35:
Good Resistance to Heat: This grade has performed under high heat and is excellent for coatings which involve high temperature.
High Hardness and Durability: Perfect for heavy-duty asphalt and industrial coatings.
Excellent resistance to environmental conditions; it is resistant to direct sunlight and changes in weather.
Blown Bitumen 85/25:
Good Adhesion: Suitable for waterproofing and sealing.
Good Resistance to Variations in Temperature: The most suitable applications are roofing and waterproofing.
Environmental Stability: It offers great stability in varying weather conditions.
Blown Bitumen 75/35:
Excellent Resistance to Abrasion and Heat: Ideal for road construction and heavy-duty asphalt.
Sunlight and Environmental Resistance: Performs well in harsh environmental conditions.
Ideal for Hot and Dry Climates: The areas which get strong sunlight and high temperatures.
Oxidized Bitumen 75/25:
Excellent Adhesion: Used in conditions where there is protection by coating and waterproofing at low temperatures.
Good Heat Resistance: Used in roofing and sealing.
Environment Resistance: Reliable on varied climatic conditions and humidity in the air.
Summary of Oxidized Bitumen Advantages:
Higher Softening Point Grades: Example – 150/5, 115/15 – hot areas, heat resistance applications
Lower Softening Point Grades: Example – 85/25, 90/10 – waterproof, sealant applications
Harder Grades: Example – 90/40, 85/40 – heavy-duty asphalt, industrial coating applications.
Medium range grades, such as 105/35 and 75/25, give a good balance of adhesion and environmental resistance in a number of applications.
