Description of Petroleum Jelly Cosmetic Grade
Petroleum Jelly Cosmetic Grade is a refined, white type of petroleum jelly used for cosmetic purposes or as an ingredient in other cosmetic products. Its properties include color, pH, PAHs, sulfated ash, and heavy metal content. Petroleum jelly cosmetic grade is a semi-solid mixture of hydrocarbons with carbon numbers higher than 25.
It is promoted for its healing properties and became a medicine chest staple. However, its folkloric medicinal value as a “cureall” has been limited by scientific understanding of appropriate and inappropriate uses. The best quality type of petroleum jelly for the cosmetic industry is non-odorous and extra white.
Petroleum Jelly Cosmetic Grade Application
There are several types of cosmetic grade Vaseline, each tailored for specific uses. Some are designed to be exceptionally lightweight, absorbing quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue.
Others may have a thicker consistency, ideal for providing a protective layer over areas needing intensive moisture. Its applications are diverse, ranging from daily skincare routines to therapeutic uses in healing chapped skin and minor scrapes. The uses of cosmetic grade Vaseline are as follows:
Medical treatment , skin and hair care , moisture loss , hair grooming , skin lubrication , product care and protection , coating , finishing , lubrication , production processes , surface cleansing , pet care , most of the ointment’s , creams for cerement or cosmetic uses are produced by using cosmetic petroleum jelly .
Storage and transportation
It should be stored in a dry and ventilated warehouse and avoid sundry odors pollution. Sunlight and rain should be prevented during transportation.
Packing
The cosmetic grade is packed in new or second hand 180 kg drums , ISO tank , flexi tanks. Each 20 foot container takes 110 drums .
